Membership

The King’s Chorus includes singers at all skill levels, welcoming students, faculty, staff and community members into its choir.

Membership is by individual voice-placement meeting, scheduled at the beginning of each semester in September and January of each year.  These brief meetings are very casual, and no previous training or experience is required.

Membership Fees (2023/24 Season)

  • Students registered full- or part-time in any Nova Scotia higher education institution are granted free membership.

  • Faculty, staff, and alumni of the University of King’s College, and Dalhousie University: $70 for the 2023/24 academic year ($35 per semester).

  • Community: $110 for the 2023/24 academic year ($55 per semester).

  • Community Senior: $70 for the 2023/24 academic year ($35 per semester).

    Musical scores are provided on loan at no additional cost.

Membership Fees (2024/25 Season, beginning September 2024)

  • Students registered full- or part-time in any Nova Scotia higher education institution: $20 per semester OR sell a minimum of two tickets to our termly concerts. (Bursaries may be available for students in financial need.)

  • Faculty, staff, and alumni of the University of King’s College, and Dalhousie University: $80 for the 2024/25 academic year ($40 per semester).

  • Community: $120 for the 2024/25 academic year ($60 per semester).

  • Community Senior: $80 for the 2024/25 academic year ($40 per semester).

Rehearsals take place on Wednesdays, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the King’s Chapel.
As the concert date approaches, there are often sectional rehearsals (for Soprano, Alto, Tenor, or Bass alone)
either from 6.30pm or from 9pm to 9.30pm.
