Making a joyful noise at the University of King’s College, Halifax, NS.

The King’s Chorus is a choral society dedicated to making a joyful noise together at the University of King’s College in Halifax, NS. We learn and rehearse major choral works from various traditions, and share what we’ve learned with the Halifax community in a concert each semester.

The King’s Chorus is committed to fostering a supportive environment where singers of all levels can improve their musicality and enjoy themselves in the process. We sing challenging and beautiful music, and we make sure to have fun while we do, cultivating an inclusive and non-competitive atmosphere in which to participate.

The Chorus brings together students, staff and faculty from Dalhousie and King’s, as well as other community members, to share in the joy of music making each semester.

Chorus Rehearsal

Membership

We are an SATB Chorus, which means we sing in the traditional choral voice parts of Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass.

We welcome new members prior to each university term: in September and in January. There are no formal auditions, although we do offer voice placement meetings to check that you are singing the most suitable voice part.

Concerts

We perform one concert in each of the fall and winter semesters - usually November and March.
