Support
Dear Friend,Many university students are forced to abandon their musical studies after high school due to the lack of amateur groups in the Halifax area. Each week, the King’s Chorus holds a rehearsal which provides instruction in music theory, vocal technique, sight-singing and a little music history. This serves to develop the Chrous as a training choir with the attitude of a professional ensemble. Our continual growth over the past few years demonstrates the enthusiasm and support of the Chorus from the student body. In light of this expansion, however, the Chorus will require additional resources to continue operation.
We fervently hope that the King’s Chorus not form as a brief novelty society to be left defunct when the founding members move on. We are as unique and lively as the College is itself, and hope to be a vital part of the community for many years to come. We receive some internal support from the College, but to take our place among the respected and established societies of King’s we need your help.
Please consider making a gift to the King’s Chorus to help ensure that the joys of friendship, learning and music-making are a permanent presence at King’s. We require funding to purchase music, hire musicians, rent venues and further our presence in the Halifax community. To make a contribution, please send a cheque made out to “The King’s Chorus” for however much is possible.
Truly yours,
